The birds have vanished in the sky,
and now the last cloud drains away. We sit together, the mountain
and I until only the mountain remains.
Li Po
|
In Li Po’s poem, the birds and
clouds are the restless thoughts that keep us from experiencing life
more deeply. The mountain represents the richness of life that is
always there, and which is truly seen only when our thoughts are
still.
